Ronan

Ronan graduated from UCD in 1994 and joined Micheal Punch & Partners in Limerick, working initially
in civil engineering on such projects as the Limerick Main Drainage scheme, before moving to the
Dublin office in 1999. In 2000, he left for Australia, where he worked for Patterson Britton & Partners
Pty on the assessment and design of marine structures in and around Sydney Harbour.
On his return he rejoined Michael Punch & Partners, working mainly as a structural engineer, and became
a director of the company in 2007. He has worked on a diverse range of projects from healthcare and industrial
to residential, commercial, heritage and leisure. Significant projects include Backweston Food Safety Offices,
the Hunt Museum Limerick, Castle Lane Limerick, Tesco CDC Ballymun, Beacon Court Sandyford, Ferrybank Retail
Centre Waterford, and the Radisson Hotel beside Dublin Castle.
Ronan's specialist area is healthcare, and he has worked on such projects as the Beacon Private Hospital,
the National Rehabilitation Hospital, Mid West Regional Hospital Limerick and Beaumont Co-Located Hospital.
He is head of training in the company and managed the process whereby Engineers Ireland accreditation was
successfully achieved in 2006.
He is chartered with both Engineers Ireland and the Institution of Structural Engineers.
