Hotel construction has formed
an important part of the broad project base developed by Michael Punch & Partners
since 1973. A number of our commissions have resulted in client referrals
and repeat business with organisations such as Jury's Inn where hotels have
been completed in Dublin, Limerick and Galway.
Recent hotels in the Dublin area have included the Herbert Park Hotel in Ballsbridge
where the entire project including the design element was completed within
a ten month period. This luxury hotel utilises an in-situ concrete frame with
a combination of GRC and precast concrete cladding in order to reduce the
time spent on fit-out stage.
The nearby Thomas Prior House, a former Masonic School, required the retention
of two facades and the existing hall while constructing a two storey basement
both in front and behind the facades. Extensive use was made of contiguous
and secant piled tile walls and a flat slab in-situ concrete transfer structure
allowed optimisation of column facing and wall spacing both above and below
the transfer level.
The experience, confidence and enthusiasm of the staff in our four offices
ensures a rapid response to queries and a dedication to team spirit.
