Michael
Punch & Partners have built on the early experience gained on hospital projects
in Kilkenny and Limerick with a large number of prestigious commissions in
recent years. One of the largest commissions completed to date is Phases 1
and 2 of Limerick Regional Hospital where a multi-million pound redevelopment
programme was executed while the hospital remained live. Extensive co-operation
between all members of the client design team and the contractors was required
to achieve this with the degree of success which resulted. The result is a
modern hospital with an enhanced environment for both patients and staff alike.
Commissions are also at varying stages in other hospitals such as Tullamore,
Castlebar and Clonmel. In each case design solutions which are appropriate
to the needs of the brief are developed. Our input at an early stage into
the Protective Development Control Plan is invaluable as it ensures that the
structural and civil requirements for any future development are built in
to the phase currently undertaken. Considerable expertise has been gained
in the area of palliative care with work being carried out over a number of
years in Milford Hospice in Limerick and the new Hospice in Blackrock Co.
Dublin currently under construction. Recent commissions include the major
refurbishment/reconstruction programme which is being undertaken at St. Johns'
Hospital in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford. In all these cases, Michael Punch &
Partners bring the optimum mix of experience and enthusiastic staff with original
ideas and practical knowledge to the project and provide a comprehensive and
co-ordinated approach to the customer needs.
